In 1995, Nick Leeson’s unchecked risk-taking caused the sensational collapse of Barings Bank. He was sentenced to a six-and-a-half-year jail sentence in a Singaporean jail, in conditions that defy belief. While in prison his wife left him and he was diagnosed with colon cancer. Against all the odds, he survived and recovered from the cancer that almost killed him, determined to begin a new life.

If your new connection is over 200 metres from the nearest point of connection a full site survey will be required which may take up to 3 months. Quotation We will provide you with a formal quotation within 15 days that will be valid for 90 days, after which time the quote will expire. If we need to re-issue a quote the costs may increase. Your quotation will be based on the costs outlined in our statement of charges. Accept terms & payment You should sign the acceptance of terms and provide payment, if applicable (we can accept Bank Transfer (BACs) and cheque). We will only start work once full payment is received. Third party consents If your connections requires electricity equipment to be sited on other people’s land, we will need to get the permission of the landowner or government bodies before we can proceed. Register with a supplier To ensure we can complete the job, you need to register with an electricity supplier. Get a list of suppliers > On-site construction Once we’ve received full payment (if applicable) and all legalities have been obtained we will contact you to agree a date to start your work. Please prepare your site according to the design agreed and ensure your electrician’s work is complete. If your supply requires NIE to carry out the excavation we will normally do so 1-2 days prior to connecting your meter. Watch our short Construction video for advice on preparing your site. Complete and return your connection card Download a connection card, get your electrician to fill in the details, and submit to us by email. Connecting your meter Once you have registered with an electricity supplier and submitted your connection card to us, we will contact you to arrange an appointment to complete the installation of your meter. Estimated total time - 12-14 weeks The timescales listed here are estimates and may vary depending on the requirements of your connection. Estimated total time excludes third party consents which may take up to 9 months to complete.

Outside of work, Lisa Gilbert has held several board positions for profit and not-for-profit companies. Most recently she has become a partner at HALL winery in Napa Valley, California. Raised in Tokyo Japan, she loves to travel and has the ability to read a menu and ‘get around town’ in French, Spanish, Italian and Japanese. Lisa holds a Communications and Japanese language degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara and has a passion for oenology and adventure travel.
